About this Course

This course unravels the post-production world for editors. Students will dive into the key features of Apple’s Final Cut Pro software for Video and Audio Editing and learn elements for creating professional videos with the use of transitions and effects, titles and motion graphics, color correction, 360 Video and Media Management.

This self-paced course prepares students to pass the Final Cut Pro X certification exam. Learn at your own pace, retake the lessons as needed, and practice alongside the Certified Trainer. We recommend that you have a basic understanding of macOS, video terminology and while not required, experience with video production and workflow is helpful. This course was developed by Mahi Film Lab in association with two highly experienced editors.

a)Introduction to Final Cut Pro X

This three-day, hands-on course teaches all the tools and techniques that make FCP X 10.4 one of the best editing tools in the business. This class is designed to help students become familiar with the user interface while learning how to perform editing functions. Students will work with real-world media to learn practical approaches to video editing—from basic techniques to powerful advanced features.

b)Advanced Editing & Finishing Techniques with Final Cut Pro X

This three-day, hands-on course teaches students hard-to-find advanced editing and finishing techniques. Learn how to edit multi-camera projects, dive deeper with audio effects, work with compound clips, create video effect presets, understand the 360 video workflow and how HDR color correction works. This course also covers advanced workflows for managing media and sharing and receiving XML's.

c)Experienced Editors

This two-day, online version of our popular 101 course teaches the fundamentals of FCPx 10.4 for editors who are already experienced in other Premiere, Resolve. Students will quickly review fundamental techniques like edits and trimming, and get right to the specific features like effects, titles and colour correction that make FCPX one of the most unique and exciting editing programs in the business.
